Defne Telecommunications carried Defne Academy into life in order to contribute to raising qualified personnel for the informatics sector. By cooperating with universities within the body of Defne Academy, Defne Telecommunications will develop a mutual study model for undergraduate, graduate and PhD students in electrics-electronics and computer engineering faculties to specialize in their fields within the scope of their needs in the projects the software of which they develop. Students taking part and making researches throughout the project will be able to use these studies as their thesis or internship records. Defne Telecommunication aims to the priority in getting interns and employees to the students with whom they worked together in Defne Academy.

General Manager Oğuz Haliloğlu made a statement about the subject and said “With the academy, we aim to enable the opportunity of experience for at least 10 university students in our global software projects every year. We will try to work with students from all universities in Defne Academy Programme. Yet, as a firm benefiting from the innovative environment and advantages of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) ARI Teknokent, we are carrying out our first studies with the faculty members and PhD students of Electronics and Communications Engineering Department, Electric Electronic Faculty of ITU, with the support of ITU NOVA Technology Transfer Office. As a firm making software exportation to more than 20 countries, our expectation from the cooperation with universities in the frame of Defne Academy is to enable practical education opportunity to university students, help academic knowledge transform into commercial value and to produce ready-to-use technologies more efficiently and agile in the whole world.”
